So I've done your hi-beam mod a year or so ago where both beams will be on when the highs are switched on. I've now got bi-xenon HID's installed, and instead of being an actual true two beam headlight, it actually has an actuator inside it where it pulls the bulb and a reflector back to change the beam pattern from a low to a hi beam. While the low/hi actuator actually changes back and forth like I'm guessing it should, I'm curious if you think I could be causing damage to the actuator... it possibly wanting to push and pull at the same time by leaving the headlight connection soldered like it is. Is this writeup on the forums as well so that I can post my comment and questions on there also?
Chuck: Hi James, I have a writeup on firing the high and low filaments at the same time. Not sure if that will kill stock bulbs but if you are doing a HID or projector conversion then this having both high and low beams on at the same time is a good idea. In your case with Hi/ Low HID you will NOT want hi & low at the same time. As far as I know my site is the only place with this mod |

Chuck, I have a 2002 TLR with bolt on yoshi cans, stage 3 power commander, TRE, and getting ready to do the air box mod and remove the valve actuators in it. My question is what is the best map for my bike and where can i get a easy download? Thanks!
Chuck: Hi Jaime, the best map for you to download and run will specify aftermarket cans, race filter, airbox mod. Download it right from the powercommander web site |

Hey Chuck, great site. Been hooked on it since I picked up my '99 TLR. Question is the bike cranks fine but wont start. Battery is fully charged, tank has plenty of gas and the pump is priming. Not getting spark and having a hell of a time finding the coil. All fuses look good. any ideas?
Chuck: Thanks! In addition to checking spark try the tip over switch. Then look at the electrical connector by the battery. Also I have seen that the fuel line can be kinked |

slash cut does it affect anything as far as performance
Chuck: Yep -it increases air flow. You will want your ECU mapped for race bolt-ons |

in the TPS vid, he shows the screws for the fine tuning of the TB sync. I have not looked at the manual, but where are they on the TLR?
Chuck: The TLR TB's don't have screws. You can see where they would be but there is no threaded hole or screw. This is good becuase really they don't need adjustment. |

Chuck, one more Q. Oil leaking out of small hose in the bottom of airbox (clutch side). Why is oil leaking from here and what hose is missing??Thanks!
Chuck: That is normal -well sort of lol... there is a case breather that goes to a an air/ oil separator then to your airbox. If you do wheelies or have too much oil it will come out there. You may want to search for air/oil separator upgrades. |

Hey chuck, what to do if your bike wont crank but the headlight come on and pump primes? I tried rechargin te battery, no help. Bas2thesem@yahoo.com
Chuck: If the battery is charged then its your safety system -kill switch, side stand, neutral, Tip over Sensor... or it could be your fuel pump relay |
